If you'll work on the Strip — or fly a lot out of Harry Reid International — your commute should shape where you live. The good news: much of the valley is within about 15–25 minutes off-peak.
Closest-in options
- Spring Valley — central west side, close to Chinatown's restaurants and a few minutes from the Strip.
- Southwest Las Vegas — newer homes with quick I-15 and 215 access.
- Southern Highlands — guard-gated golf community just south of the Strip along I-15.
- Green Valley — established Henderson neighborhoods, about 15 minutes to the airport.
- Downtown — urban living and high-rises, minutes from the north end of the Strip.
Worth the extra drive for some
Summerlin, Henderson, and Anthem add a bit of drive time but trade it for outdoor access, newer master-planned amenities, and quieter streets.
Shift work and resort employee entrances
Many resort jobs involve shift work. A 2 AM drive is very different from a 5 PM one, and employee entrances are often on back-of-house roads rather than Las Vegas Boulevard. Map the route to your actual entrance at your actual shift times.
